It equips students with the competencies necessary in the provision of health services. It is supported in hospitals, hospices et.al. It is essential in team dynamics in different setting as it is actively involved in Infection prevention and control, housekeeping procedures, patient care activities, Supporting hospital catering services, basic mortuary techniques supportive store procedures
EXAMINATION BODIES
Internal examinations are conducted by the Westwick College of Health Sciences.
External examinations are conducted by the TVETA-CDACC.
COURSES DURATION
- Level 5 (Certificate Level)-3 trimester (One year).
- Level 6(Diploma Level) -6 trimesters (Two years).
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the health services support course, students will be equipped with competencies necessary to:
- Participate in infection prevention and control.
- Performing hospital housekeeping procedures;
- Undertaking patient care activities
- Supporting hospital catering services;
- Performing basic mortuary techniques
- Executing supportive store procedures
ADMISSION CRITERIA
Diploma (level 6) – KCSE: Mean Grade C- (Minus).
Certificate (Level 5) -KCSE: Mean Grade D-(Minus)
